Croatia (Hrvatska)

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day! Again we awoke to the church bells and birds singing their hearts out.
We breakfasted and got fresh bread from the nearby bakery for our lunch. Off to Krka we go!
Krka National Park is absolutely beautiful. We got there nice and early so the crowds were thin. It was very nice. After taking what seemed like thousands of photos, we finally headed north for our drive to Zagreb and our last Airbnb.

The interior of Croatia is so beautiful. Rolling hills, trees scattered about and little hamlets of stone houses clustered here and there with a church steeple to complete the picture. We both loved it. The freeway was truly a freeway. We felt like we had the road to ourselves and the road was in perfect condition. We were 'slow drivers' going 80 mph.

From Trogir to Krka to Zagreb

In Zagreb we turned in our little car - no troubles there which was a blessing because we did put one small scratch in it on our first night trying to drive out of the rather precarious parking lot of our first Airbnb.

From the rental car place, we took an uber to our new favorite vegan restaurant - Zrno. We had a lovely dinner.

While meandering one last time through Zagreb that evening we walked up the hill to the Gradec or Upper City. From there we got a great panoramic view of the town. These photos were from that vantage point.

We walked back down to the bustling "Times Square" of Zagreb -Jelacica (Yeh la cheech) Square, and it seemed the whole town was gathered! We joined the crowd who were excitedly watching the soccer game on a huge screen TV. We did not feel like tourists anymore!

We headed to our last night with smiles on our faces and LOTS of photo homework to keep us busy on the flight home.

Our last Airbnb happened to be quite a modern and immaculate apartment.
