It started with a simple question to my husband, "Where do we want to go next year on vacation?" We have taken many wonderful vacations crossing off each destination from our bucket list of places we want to travel to. So where to next?
Then my "Endless Vacation" magazine arrived in the mail. It had a wonderful article "Vermont Summer Road Trip" by Nina Fedrizzi which reminded me that New England in the Fall was a trip I had long wanted to do. It turned out New England was one of the few places in the United States that Lee hadn't been to either, so it was decided, New England in the Fall - 2015.
First we checked to see what resorts were available to us through our Timeshare Company, Wyndham, and was excited to find four resorts in four different states; Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. They made a perfect loop through four states, well more like a rectangle with aspirations to be a triangle.
It was exciting and daunting at the same time to contemplate a month long vacation. That was a long time to be away from home. But the fact that we could was awesome!
We checked out, Alaska Airlines and found they had non-stop flights to and from Boston with great fares and flight times.

August 26, 2015 Update:
We made our reservations and bought our flight tickets and now it's time to check out what there is to see and do in New England. Our condo in Newport, Rhode Island isn't available until the day after our arrival in Boston, so we have the whole day to spend sightseeing in the city. That's obviously not enough time to see all Boston has to offer so after much online research we chose the Freedom Trail and a tour of Fenway Park.
Our itinerary is:
Week One: Newport, RI
Week Two: Berkshires, MA
Week Three: Smuggler's Notch, VT
2 Days in Bretton Woods, NH
Week Four: Francestown, NH
