We continued up the Matukituki Valley for about 20 km—just for a drive—before returning to Wanaka for a coffee and lunch. Then we visited Betty Russell, an old friend of Margaret's, before hitting the road again to Cromwell, where we met up with Bill and Joyce Darling (other friends,, Ron and Wendy Gabites, were already staying with them), and spent the last night of our brief holiday with them.

Wanaka
