South of the South

Next morning the road joined the route of the Otago Rail Trail (which starts at Clyde, in the Clutha Valley). Stunning rock formations along this road, to Middlemarch, where we enjoyed a coffee in a cafe and met a group of cyclists who'd just finished the Trail. Lunch with Lee (brother David's ex-wife), then while Margaret attended an appointment in town at the Travel Doctor for her Africa trip later this year, I drove to Tairoa Head to photograph albatrosses. Overnight at Lee's then set out early-ish next morning.
Map points: Ranfurly; Middlemarch; Dunedin; Tairoa Head
