Not such a nice day. Steady drizzle to start, though it did ease. Coats on, M walked to Lee Bay, but I went only as far as Horseshoe Bay. Returned for lunch at the pub, later joined by M on her return. Watched a screening of a local movie, A Local's Tale: Stewart Island past and present, narrated as if by Lola the dog.
Our 6pm sailing had been cancelled, but fortunately we were able to rebook on to the 3.30 sailing. No doubt it was really not particularly 'rough'—say, to a Foveaux Strait fisherman—but this landlubber found the sea pretty heavy. Several passengers required the dreaded

Day 6: Oban to Invercargill

Not such a nice day. Steady drizzle to start, though it did ease. Coats on, M walked to Lee Bay, but I went only as far as Horseshoe Bay. Little Bags. However, the seasickness remedy recommended by the ferry company (three or four ginger tablets, and one earplug wedged in the non-dominant ear) was highly successful, and I quite enjoyed the experience. Once in Invercargill, we returned to the same motel we'd stayed at a couple of days before, and had booked before we left two days earlier.
