Morning started off with a walk around Halfmoon Bay, then tour around Paterson Inlet and to Ulva Island, a 'bird-lover's paradise', but we were disappointed with the poor avian turnout when we visited. I saw two Stewart Island Robins, and some Brown Weavers (in the distant canopy). That's all. Our guide was interesting (not): her answer to a lot of the questions was “It's just Nature”! So all in all, a disappointing trip. It was't a rip-off; just an 'off' day, presumably because of the weather. Everyone else I've ever spoken to who's visited raves about the bird life there!
