Trip of My Life

Today, my mom announced we were going to L'Orangerie, a museum that used to be a huge green house for orange trees, to see Monet's giant water lilies. Monet, (pronounced Moh-nay) was an impressionist artist I had learned about in 3rd grade. Monet was famous for painting water lilies, and for being the first ever impressionist. When he was getting older, Monet painted gigantic water lily pictures, which were so big that we even had to take a Panorama just to get the entire picture. There were eight and they were all very pretty. But during that time we were looking there is this guard who kept shaking his head at us whenever we did something. I brought a water bottle, But he said I couldn't drink it in the museum. I also brought in a feather I had found but I abandoned it soon after.

Today, my mom announced we were going to L'Orangerie, a museum that used to be a huge green house for orange trees, to see Monet's giant water lilies. There were eight and they were all very pretty. But during that time we were looking there is this guard who kept shaking his head at us whenever we did something. I brought a water bottle, But he said I couldn't drink it in the museum. I also brought in a feather I had found but I abandoned it soon after.

After, to get home, we went on a boat called a Batobus, and there was a vending

machine on board. Dad give me some coins, and me and Paloma each got lemon water which we shared with Mom and Dad.

We rested a little while, then we went on a tour with a tour guide named David. The tour with David included the Sorbonne, Saint-Chapelle cathedral with stained glass windows, Notre Dame, and and a delicious macaron shop, where I got David's favorite kind of macaron, which was passion fruit and chocolate, Paloma and Dad just got plain chocolate, and Mom got chocolate-caramel. Then, we went to Luxembourg Gardens, where David told us the story of Mary Antoinnette. They were many people reading by a huge fountain with a mini river that ran in the middle of the garden.

That night, we went to the Eiffel Tower! Unfortunately, we couldn't actually go in the tower because the line for tickets was too long. After, me and Paloma got hot dogs, and Dad and Mom just ate French fries. Then for some reason, people started to put up caution tape and fence off an area of the road. We took a taxi home, and when we got home, we were all so tired we fell asleep right away.
