Trip of My Life

Today we rented a car and drove to a small French town on the border called Saint-Jean-de-Luz, which means Saint John of Light. Here, we played on cool exercise machines and bought new espadrilles, with laces! They are black with rainbow stripes. I used them as pointe shoes, and Mom got really mad! Paloma got bright red ones.

Later, we were walking down the boardwalk, and we saw some kids collecting something with nets. They were sea snails! They kept saying in Spanish, "Sophia wants to eat them." While we were playing, Mommy ordered churros, and we got to see them made! They were delicious! We got six, and each person got one and a half. They were so good that I said, "We should've gotten 12!" "That's what I said," Daddy said!

Later, when we got home, we packed for one night. We drove to Pamplona, and checked in at our four star luxury hotel, Tres Reyes, which means Three kings in Spanish. I didn't like Pamplona very much, because it was loud and smelly. Our hotel was luxurious (hence 'luxury hotel').
*I was originally going to call this chapter Sea Snails, but we were in Saint-Jean-de-Luz for 5 hours, and that seemed like a better title.
