Trip of My Life

June 23
Today we went to Monet's house-Giverny! There was a very pretty garden, and the rooms were brightly colored. There was a blue and white kitchen, a yellow dining room, and lots of paintings. There was also a sewing room, and did I forget to mention this? The house was bright pink with green shutters! After, we went to the most visited museum in the world- the Louvre! Out in front, there was a giant glass pyramid, but inside there was La Joconde a.k.a. Monna Lisa! We also paid a visit to Winged Victory, and weaved our way through
rooms full of lots of Egyptian and Roman artifacts.

Today we went up to Sacre Coeur (in French, sacred heart) in a funicular. It was very impressive, and a good spot to take pictures. Then, we went to Montmartre, the artists corner, and there were artists all over drawing people's pictures. Since she had been asking ever since she saw it on a video, and we only had 20 Euros, just Paloma's picture was drawn.

After, we took the Metro to a park that my friend who used to live in France, a park that her mom had recommended. It was called Parc Monceau. We got food at a stand there, and we went on a super fun carousel! Did you know that the carousel was invented in France?
Later, we went to the Arc de Triomph. We went to the top, the Charles de Galle etoile. Etoile means star in French. It is called that because it is one of the biggest roundabouts in the world. There are twelve streets that protrude from it, including the famous Champs-Elysees. Dad said it was the most famous street in the world, but I said, "What about Wall Street?" Mom said that Champs-Elysees and Wall Street are equally famous. That night , we had dinner at a cafe in front of Odeon theater.

That morning, mom and I went to the Laundromat to wash the clothes. We met dad and Paloma at the nearby bakery for breakfast, which was a scone and an orange sucre Madeleine. There, I invented 'POP!!!'. In other words, I found out that my sunglass lenses could pop out and pop back in.

After, just me and mom went to the Louvre again, while dad and Paloma went to an amusement park. This time, we went just to see Dentelliere (Lacemaker), which mom wanted to see, and the French Crown Jewels, which I wanted to see. We found the Crown Jewels first, and they were beautiful. At first, we thought the gold and pearl earrings (they each had plaques) been stolen, but a guard told us that they were just out for exposition. When I got downstairs, another guard told

us that Dentelliere along with the other painting they had from that artist is in a different country, also for exposition. At a mini gift shop, mom bought me a Three Graces Notepad for sketches, and a Dentelliere postcard to frame up in my room like a mini painting that isn't expensive!

We left and met dad and Paloma at the Amusement park, and I got to do bumper cars and space land funhouse with Paloma. For dinner, we got cheeseburgers and ice cream on our street.
