France: Brittany and Normandy 2018

The next morning before breakfast Yolande ran out to the market and came home with pâté de Foie gras, shrimp, snails, cheeses, bread, etc. She said all of this was for dinner along with a roasted duck. We spent the day hiking by the Gulf of Morbihan viewing swans and beautiful peaceful scenery. We had lunch at Yolande’s cheese, pâté, salad, pancetta and, of course, out of this world French bread and wine. Lunch and dinner aways ended with European chocolates.
Jim and I went for a 4 mi walk along the beach. I warned Jim that Yolande was planing to service us pâté de foie gras, shrimp, snails etc. and a roasted duck dinner, not even Jim could fathom that. We asked Yolande to please have mercy on us, we could not manage her generosity. We settled for the appetizers including fresh pink shrimp, cheeses, radishes, snails (Jim ate them not I), French bread and wine. The shrimp were beautifully arranged in a pin wheel on a blue and white plate (their eyes looking at us), the radishes artfully displayed on a blue and white dish. Her table was always beautifully

arranged, the colors of plates table cloth and food looked like a painting. Jim took pictures, of course. We waddled our way up to our bedroom and had a peaceful night’s sleep. Yolande is a treasure; her generosity and kindness are outstanding.
