France: Brittany and Normandy 2018

After starting the day with another great breakfast, Yolande took us to an open air market. The French people look forward to market day an important part of life in France. The market abounded with fresh, colorful vegetables and fresh seafood all beautifully arranged. There was clothing, jewelry, pocket books and more. Yolande brought hard sausages all made from different meats and spices. She gave us 2 to feast on for the rest of our trip. They came in very handy and saved us from starvation a number of times. After the market we continued to a very narrow peninsula called Queberon surrounded by the Atlantic ocean, (an hour away). On our way out to the tip of the peninsula we found a restaurant where we could see the ocean on both sides of the peninsula at the same time. Yolande introduced me to the famous Brittany sardines at this restaurant (a lot better than in the USA, they were edible), they were mixed in a pizza topping on a panini and had a strong tuna taste. We drove to the tip of the peninsula surrounded by breathtaking seascapes of cliffs, rocks and an ocean the color of jewels. We walked for about 4 miles and again, took way too many photos. That night we went to the town of Port Navalo in Arzon for dinner. Before going to dinner Yolande insisted we first stop at a bar for a glass of wine in this town. We sat outside next to the water at the bar and watched an amazing sunset, more photos. We then went to dinner at Le Boucanier over looking the water and had a great meal. Of course Jim took pictures of the food, interior and outside. This was suppose to be our ‘au revoir’ to Yolande and her wonderful Brittany. We hated leaving, so we didn’t. I had worked in an extra day into our schedule, so we used it.
