Bats let in to eat bookworms help preserve the ancient papers and books. Remnants of Moorish town wall. BELOW: 20 meses Bacalhau (20 month vintage salted dried cod) they make into delicious dishes, my favourite flaked as if rice into a risotto like dish with loads of vege. 19th century age beaten entrance to Santa Cruz Monastery that was founded 1131.
