5.30am start yesterday to pack, return the rental after 1,512ks and catch our flights, Tim and Karen 1.5hrs to Stanstead for a Christopher pickup. Me two flights, 5.5 hours to Stockholm (fabulous airport including smoking/vaping chambers that hold up to 8 at a time) and Lisbon, ready for Gadventure Tour start at 6pm tonight. All very smoothly done until non English taxi driver ‘found’ the hotel = dropped me off and pointed down a street. Ah memories of Greece! All good, I found it much quicker than I did the boat in Athens and am a happy girl. Nice shared spaces in the hotel, generous breakfast, nearly broke the table with the amount of GF food they proudly produced. Tinsy room with no soundproofing = hear things I would prefer to be oblivious to, but well located. Ventured out twice enjoying the chirpy crowded hum of people from all over the world last night - notably way more racially diverse than Norway. Out again first thing this morning, in a nice straight I won’t get lost line to the waterfront. Hardly anyone about except the overnight snorers sleeping rough but starting to hum again with all the brunch tables coming out into the streets as I walked back. Enjoyed octopus washed down with a lovely local red wine for dinner last night and yay found fast internet connection in hotel lounge so been kipping out here catching up on the blog.
> Farvel Norway. The hotel (taken this morning while street still quiet), octopus dinner and pics from my morning walk. Has Trump been deporting again? The Golden Gate Bridge is over here (same architect). Sand art, mosaic footpath for you Karen - the streets are roughly done mosaic limestone and not kind to bare feet and anyone wearing anything other than flat non-slip shoes.
