We left the Jasper Park Lodge the next morning to catch our tour on the Columbia Icefield from the Icefield Discovery Center at 12:30 pm. It took a while to get there with construction on the road, but the sky was pretty clear so we felt the day would be special, and it was. The Sno-coach was an unusual vehicle with a young female driver. She made a number of amusing cracks about her age and how she ended up driving a bus. The bus dropped down a steep lateral moraine before depositing us on the Athabasca Glacier. We toured around for about 30-45 min before leaving again.
