This was a lovely, otherworldly hike up to Mt. Edith Cavell, which was named after a British nurse that was executed by the Germans in WWI for helping soldiers escape.
The trail goes up along a rough glacial bed, which is mostly rocks of various sizes. Over a ridge you can see the Cavell glacier next to Cavell pond with many icebergs floating in the water (picture below).
We weren't sure about this side trip because the weather was very overcast and the road long and windy. However, it turned out to be a

We weren't sure about this side trip because the weather was very overcast and the road long and windy. However, it turned out to be a
highlight of the trip because the scenery was so unique. Fortunately it cleared up just enough for us to see most of the mountain.
The bottom picture is Mt. Edith Cavell as high as the clouds would let us see. To the right is a picture of the ridge on Mt. Edith Cavell that has the Angel Glacier coming down to a point with waterfalls dropping down to the pond below
