My diary

Today I was woken by thunder and lightening around 4.30. Claire told me to get out of bed and come and watch it because it was amazing! She was right. Thunder lit up the entire sky and the room we were in only had wooden bats like a jail cell so we were inside and dry but it felt like outside. The thunder and lightening was massive and simultaneous. It was a crazy storm and meant we couldn't leave at 5 like we wanted. More sleep! We left around 6 and it was still raining but no more wind. We trekked back down to the beach and got on the boat. We all fell straight asleep. Around 8.30 they gave us breakfast of fried egg and bread. I've eaten lots of bread! I slept a lot of the boat as it is comfy. Everyone is very chilled out, reading, playing cards, listening to music, or sleeping. It's our first real time to relax as the bus is always so uncomfy. Plus the Mekong Ricer flows through the mountains and it's so so beautiful!! And it's still water which means I'm not travel sick. We are traveling back to Thailand which means this is my last day in Laos. The trip has gone so fast I can't believe it's the 27th already. We will cross the boarder by boat which will be an experience. We crossed the boarder and passed through immigration. We then got the bus to the hotel which was lovely. We all ran to our rooms which was a cute little hut like rooms with bathrooms outside the actual room and got in our bikinis and jumped into the pool. It was so so nice!!! We all stank and felt so dirty. We then got changed to go out for dinner at 6. We went to the riverside restaurant which was a nice restaurant. I had a gin fizz which was good and also chips which were amazing. I then had a green curry which tasted amazing but was too spicy! Katy went to get the results of her masters and she got a distinction. She was so happy!! We then paid and walked to 7/11 for snacks then to bed with a chunky kit Kat.
