On August 2nd, I was on an island in the middle of Snowbank lake in the Boundary Waters on the last day of my last trip of the summer with Widji. On August 3rd, I headed home on the bus. When I got home around 3, I had approximately 28 hours before my flight would leave, it was lovely to spend that small amount of time with my family, and it was enough time to get the packing I needed to get done done (I haven't yet discovered that I forgot something major, which seems like a good thing). It was a slightly chaotic day, but I wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the days I had at camp, or any of the days I have had in Bergen so far.

My family dropped me off at the airport around 5 for my flight which
was supposed to take off at 7:30, giving me an hour and a half long layover in Reykjavik, but it didn't end up taking off until 9. I assumed that Iceland Air wouldn't send off my next flight without me, but it was still funny to look at the time my flight was supposed to arrive in Iceland and know that that time was a few minutes after my next flight was supposed to depart. When we landed, everyone on the flight started rushing, some families literally jogging. We were taken in a bus to where our plane had taxied out to, and got to get on the plane by going up the steps outside, which was mildly exciting.
When I landed in Bergen, Kristin was there with my name on a sign and a Norwegian flag to pick me up. We went back to her house in Bergen, where they had a lovely room for me. She asked what I wanted to do and I said that getting out on a walk/ run would be lovely. When Brigt got home, we all went to a mountain near their house, hiked up it and then jogged down. It was a completely lovely
way to start my stay here. Then, Kristin cooked a beautiful salmon dinner followed by blueberry crisp made with blueberries they had picked earlier this summer. It was a beautiful way to spend my first few hours in Norway!
