Day 1: The flight

Goodmorning,

today is finally the day, we are leaving the Netherlands fo exactly 178 days and it will probbelbly be one of the most extraordinary experiances in my life. I've been counting down for this moment thorough the past year.
Last night we got up at 3am. I wrote got up but i ment get out of bed because i didn't get much sleep last night, I've never been more excited.
Around 5 am we arrived at schiphol airport, with my mom, my dad, my little sister and not to forget, raymond ofcourse. It was so weird to say goodbye to everyone but after Nadine and I checked in (with our way to big backpacks!), it really had to happen. A lot of kisses, huggs and mostly, a lot of hearty huggs. I felt very weird but once we

arrived at the airplane we realized that our adventure has really started!

Let me tell you something about today's schedule
Our first flight is from Amsterdam to Zurich at 7:00 untill 08:25. Our flight number for this first flight is LX737.
At the moment I’m at the Swiss airport. The first flight passed really quickly, we’ve had a cup of tea and a little traditional Swiss sandwich and before we knew we were landing. The Swiss airport is very luxurious, but also expensive. I couldn’t believe what i saw when the menu at our cafe said €6,50 for a cup of tea! But as you may now, Switserland is the most expensive country in the whole world. Holland is in 16th place, so if you want a coffee and a sandwith at work, or some fries at school, go for it!
Than the second flight, this one is longer and goes from Zurich to Nairobi. We will leave the swiss

ground at 09:55 and we will be landing in Kenia around 19:40. Our flight number is LX296.

Finally, but maybe the most important one is our flight from Nairobi to Kilomanjaro. This is a short flight (just one hour) and will be lasting from 22:50 to 23:50 with flight number KQ6728.

When we land in Arusha (Kilimanjaro) there will be a taxi to bring us to the house and the next day our adventure can officially begin! I will update you as soon as i have the possibility to.
