AUSTRALIA

Started the day early woken by about 30 screeching lorakeets (a bright green, red and yellow bird) eating the small fig fruits off next doors tree. Their drive is covered in bits of fruit! So we decided to all get up and go for a walk on the other side of the river. So many good walks, and beautiful views. Whilst fireworks did go off in Perth on New Years Eve, the local display in Shelly was on New Years Day. This community event funded by the local city council attracted around 5000 to a small park to watch fireworks on a barge in the river with a live band playing, food vans and council staff to organise!
