The Domas Aurea or the Golden House was built to be Nero's private play room. It is believed that Nero wouldn't have actually lived here but rather just spent leisure time because there are no bathrooms or kitchens. The residence was never actually finished before Nero was captured because of how large it was. It was supposed to have covered the Palantine Hill and surrounding areas. Today it is a significant archeological site where there are new things being uncovered. It's giving historians more insight on the palace and on the time period.
