Then we took a walk and a boat ride across the Ganges to visit The ‘Beatles’ Ashram. We walked along the promenade, crossed over the river in a boat Raju hired for us, then walked along the opposite bank in the direction of the Dayananda Ashram until we were opposite it on the other side of the river. Lots to see on the way and loads of friendly people. We passed cows and vegetable stalls, crowds of women who behaved like we were TV stars again. To be fair this was mostly Shelley, she definitely had the lead role in the show. Chrissie was also accosted by a brightly clad lady, and somehow she managed to get the nearest cow in the shot as well!
