Day 1: Marrakech – Marrakech
Pick up at Marrakech airport and drop off at riad in Marakech.
Day 2: Marrakech – Dades Gorges
We leave behind Marrakesh and start to climb the highest point of the High Atlas, Tizi n’Tichka, around 2260 meters altitude where snow persists almost throughout all year. A magnificent landscape on a road that winds through Atlas Berber villages. We continue to explore the fascinating Dades Valley and its famous Gorges. Visit the village of Kelaa M’gouna, famous for the annual Rose Festival. This road is known as the road of a thousand Kasbahs, and you will certainly have many opportunities to take outstanding photos. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
Today the journey takes us to the mysterious Sahara desert. The asphalt ends in Erfoud and from there we continue on off beaten track until we reach our destination, a charming auberge situated in the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Day 4: Sahara Desert tour 4×4 around Merzouga – Camel trek night in Desert
This day is specially reserved for a 4X4 tour around the region, passing through some off roads of the famous Lisbon – Dakar, we’ll have a tea and see how a nomadic family lives, visit the village of Khamlia, explore the Oasis of Asil Habied and visit the biggest Lake of the region. In the afternoon, camel trekking to the bivouac, with a stop in the big dune to contemplate the sunset. Overnight in aubergedusud bivouac Auberge du sud with camel trek , in a typical Berber tent in the desert of erg chebbi.
Day 5: Merzouga – Ouarzazate
This will be a unique morning, with the possibility to climb the big dune and experience the unforgettable moment of sunrise. After breakfast, return to auberge and departure towards the Draa Valley and its stunning landscapes full of green oasis and Berber villages. Then departure towards Ouarzazate, the main Berber city, known for its dramatic mountains and desertic landscape surrounded by breathtaking valleys. Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Visit the Ouarzazate tudios where some successes such as “Gladiator” or “Alexander the Great” were filmed. Dinner and night stay in Riad.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Return to Marrakech, but before stop to visit Ait Ben Haddou, built in the XIX Century, declared as Unesco World Heritage. The most beautiful Kasbah of southern Morocco in part because of the interest dedicated by the film industry from the early sixties. Arrive to Marrakech and visit the city, the famous Mosque of Koutubia from XII century, the Medina and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets, the Mosque, El Badi Palace and Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school. The Saadian tombs, relatively well preserved, are, however, one of the best testimonies of the season and one of the main places visited by tourists today. The Bahia Palace, built in the XIX century, is another mandatory script and one of the finest examples of Muslim architecture of the old imperial capital.
Day 7: Marrakech – Transfer to Airport
Depending on the time of flight, visit the Medina and its souks for some last minute shopping and transfer to the airport.
