M & M's World Cruise

Pura Vida! We arrived in the port of Puntarenas (Sandy Point), Costa Rica, this morning. Our day was spent with our guide, Rodrigo, who took us to Parque Aventura San Luis near San Ramón – a beautiful 1.75-hour drive from sea level up to 3,000 ft. Located on the Continental Divide, the winds in CR generally blow from east to west, so the east side (Caribbean) of the mountains gets more rain than the west side (Pacific).

Our Walk in the Clouds took us through a rainforest, including crossing several swinging bridges. frogs, lizards, amazing little cutter ants hauling leaves on their backs, birds (including CR's national bird, the Clay-Colored Thrush), butterflies, and spiders. Beautiful flowers & air plants everywhere also.

We were sorry to miss seeing our friends, Pat & Don Walzel, who now live in Atenas, but I think we will be coming back to see more of this beautiful country.

After returning to the ship, we got cleaned up and celebrated New Year’s Eve like we were young or something. Fortunately, there are no pictures of us dancing, but we did “cut a rug” for a good two hours.
