M & M's World Cruise

Today's small bite on our "tapas tour of the world" was in Cabo, at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula. The waterfront area of Cabo San Lucas was busy and crowded with tourists & loud music & hawkers, typical of many Mexican towns with which we're familiar.

But, oh, the water! The Sea of Cortez is clear with beautiful shades of blue. And its famous rock formations do not disappoint. After riding the Viking tender in to shore, we hopped on another boat for a ride out to view the rocks and then went out and around to the Pacific side of the rocks. Pelicans and sea lions and fish were our animal

sightings of the day. The whales remain elusive.

Then we headed northeast along the coast to the town of San José del Cabo where we visited the missionary church, bought some Mexican chocolate, and enjoyed the beautiful desert vegetation.

Back to Cabo San Lucas, where we did a little window shopping (no, we did not buy the tee shirt, but we were tempted); tendered back to the Viking Neptune; and watched the tenders get loaded as well as the beautiful sunset.
