Around the World in Many Days, V: South Pacific
And so ends the fifth leg of our journey, in which we barely scratched the island nations of the South Pacific.
To sum up the 33 days:
- 1 day of flight from Taiwan to Fiji
- 21 days in Fiji
- 11 days in Samoa
We covered more than 3,100 kilometres in total, about 1,750 of those by air (Nadi to Taveuni, Taveuni to Suva, Nadi to Apia), about 550 by car (around Samoa), about 300 by ferry (to the Yasawas and back, to Savai'i and back), and the rest by bus, taxi, boat, etc.
We stayed at 8 different rooms/houses/apartments/cabins for a total of 32 nights.
