My class was supposed to travel to Brussels for travel program in March, but it got canceled. BUT, I still come to Belgium to visit some friends.
They live in Mons (Dutch: Bergen). It is a very pretty little city. So I stayed there for the night before going to Brussels the next day.

My class was supposed to travel to Brussels for travel program in March, but it got canceled. BUT, I still come to Belgium to visit some friends.
They live in Mons (Dutch: Bergen). It is a very pretty little city. So I stayed there for the night before going to Brussels the next day.
The Phenomenon:
1. Belgium is one of the countries that has more than one official language. I did not know before that even cities have completely different names, both in French and Dutch. And I fount it out when I was at the train station there when I checked the train to Mons.
2. We went to the national museum in Brussels, and found out that art nouveau is a frequently used style in Brussels. The entrance was completely in that style, and the book store was also filled with a lot of books about art nuoveau.
3. The central park in Brussels was sadly less organised that the ones in Mons. Is it because Brussels is the biggest city? Even the pond located in the middle of the park was just dried out, whereas it should have been a beautiful focal point. But then I tried to see it from the other way around. maybe the attraction is not about the park. But the beautiful historical buildings surrounding it? so people sit in the park, to look outside.
