Wild West Adventure

Today started out at 8:30am at Great American RV to get the new AC put in, we thought it would be a 2-hour job but turned out to be a lot longer. We made the best of it, ran some errands in Decator, AL and went to Steak and Shake which Pat's parents always loved. They would be very disappointed in how they have gone downhill, even Pat's milkshake was bad. When we returned after lunch the install was almost done, Troy Layne, Service Mgr, had been on hold for over an hour with the Airxcel, the AC manufacture, to get the paperwork completed. After another half hour, Troy was trying to work upper Mgt at GARV to let us take off but Pat got ahold of a live person at Airxcel, Candy in the Payment area. Even though it was not her area of responsibility, Candy worked with her boss and Troy to get the necessary approvals for the warranty work. FYI, Candy told Pat the current wait time for a warranty rep was 3 plus hours!! Thank you, Troy and Candy. Finally, at 3pm we headed out and started our trip to Paducah, KY for a quick stop over.

Stats: 265 miles, 4 1/4 hours' drive time, diesel fill-up 86gals, DEF 4 gal. FYI, we have a 100 gal tank, I usually like a 20 gal reserve, stretched it a little far this time, low fuel indicator came on. Yikes!!
