I am ready for Ron the taxi driver to pick me up now. I had enough time to practice with the selfie stick (I can't believe I'm saying this) after weighing my case, 17.8kg. With a 40kg allowance I'll be behaving very out of character and buying lots of stuff in India!! Ron and I managed to navigate ourselves all the way to Stanley to pick up my travelling companion Christine. This trip brought us together in that Ganesha 'removing obstacles' sort of way, we've known each other for 6 weeks now and can't wait go exploring together. The plan started out entrirely different to what we've ended up doing but all for the better in the end! Well the flight went well without any event really. A little late setting off on the massive wingspan Emirates Airbus, but that just meant less time in the expensive designer shopping 'mall' that is Dubai airport! It's a very flashy place even in the dark. I can't deny, although I didn't look at the Cartier watches, I really did want go and have a gawp. Father in Law Trevor will love the Hugo Boss shop when he passes through here at the end of next month. Him and wife Liz will be on their way to the Rugby World Cup in the land down under. Entertainment on the plane doesn't disappoint, I considered watching the Jackie Chan film 'Kung Fu Yoga' then had a laugh at the 'Relaxing TV' offering of Kitten Garden (yes kittens in a very small garden); in the end I chose 'The Circle' with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson, a bit of scarily plausible Sci Fi as usual! I had a very short nap which meant I missed a whole nights sleep, but the highlight was the sunrise over Karachi as we headed for Delhi. When it came to filling in the little immigration slip I was a bit brain dead and could hardly remember how to spell Delhi!
