The Holy Land & Petra

The Tour Itinerary:
After arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, we’ll be met at the airport and be transferred by private car to Jerusalem for check-in at our hotel.

Much to my surprise, I actually slept reasonably well as I entered day two of my trip. It helped that the seat next to me was empty so I had a little more room to spread out.

We landed in Istanbul at 6:40 and headed to the gate for our Tel Aviv flight. The Istanbul airport is very modern and very large. We left Istanbul at 8:25 and reached Tel Aviv at 9:30. It was a two hour flight with a one hour change in time. We cleared passport control and met our driver (Jack, an Armenian native of Jerusalem) who got us to our hotel at 11:30. There was a lot of road construction which slowed us considerably.

The St, George Hotel is very nice and is a 15 minute walk from Jerusalem's Old City. The room design is very similar to those found in Swedish hotels. I looked forward to sleeping in a bed that night.
