We visited a beautiful ceramics factory in Fex called Art Naji which specialises in pottery and mosaics or zellige which means "little polished stone" in Arabic. Zellige first appeared in Morocco in the 10th century and was inspired by Roman and then Byzantine mosaics. The first zellige were white and brown before discoveries gradually led to the introduction of the beautiful vibrant colours used today. I spotted these guys on my way out of the factory, the little black and white pair sitting on their cardboard box looked like they were just waiting for some mischief.
