The boarding process went smoothly. Driver was on time and we were on the ship in about 1.5 hours. Once on board, we went out exploring the ship. We went to the Lido deck and had a nosh. We have a complimentary dinner at 5:30 tonight. The ship was supposed to set sail at 4pm but it is now 5:15pm. Something to do with the harbor pilot not showing up? Probably more like some power play or game being played. But the Captain is not happy.

The internet on the ship is extremely slow and no free wifi. You have to buy internet packages because it's a satellite connection. So no pictures will be uploaded because of the slowness of the internet until we get home.. I did figure out that using the work stations on the 5th level are faster than using my tablet. But those computers do not have USB ports so still can't upload pictures. I will continue to write about our activities but the pictures will wait until we get back in a couple weeks. I will let everyone know once the pictures are posted. Kind of bummed, but that's life.

We also had the safety drill where we make off that we are boarding the life boats. Naturally there were people that were clueless and keep the rest of the ship waiting.

OH my the ship is moving, guess the pilot finally showed up. Time for dinner. We had dinner a complimentary dinner at Canaletto :A taste of Italy featuring small plates for sharing. The food was excellent. And somehow they knew it was our 24th anniversary. They served us a wonderful chocolate cake with gelato after our meal. We had window seats and watched the world go by.What a great touch. A good start to a great vacation.
