We landed at 7am in Singapore. Getting through customs was pretty easy. I was happy to be off the plane because 17 hours with a baby crying constantly for all that time was beyond ridiculous. And yes, had ear plugs and head sets and back ground music on. The kid would have made a fabulous non stop house alarm. Already did my rant on Facebook so time to move on.
Even though I went pretty much sleepless on the flight, both Craig and I did pretty good. Very few people at the airport and on the streets. It was very low key. I did start up a conversation with a woman as we were waiting for our shuttle to the hotel. She was on the same flight as Craig and me. Also she will be on the same cruise with her husband as us. Her husband is giving a lecture on the ship about Asia and it's culture. How cool is that?? So Craig and I will probably attend the lecture since we will be at sea.
The ride to our hotel was uneventful. We got into our room by 10am and immediately took showers. Felt so good!!! Then went to the nearest shopping center a couple of blocks from our hotel and had lunch. Lunch was excellent. I had a superfood salad. Tons of veggies and blue berries. Also had a freshly made mango, pineapple, orange juice. It was yummy. Craig had a tofu with chicken and veggie which was also excellent. Then we went shopping for a new cosmetic bag for all my sundries for the trip. The zipper on the one I had broke. Found one and now all is good. LOL
Singapore, the city part is interesting so far. Seems that there are many shopping centers in huge buildings several floors high. Guess shopping is a thing. My purpose on this trip is not to shop in Malls. I want to experience the countries we visit and it's people and culture.
After lunch we came back to the room and rested for a couple of hours. There was a huge thunderstorm and rain came pouring down. It was rather cool. We had dinner at the hotel since it was still pouring outside. We had Pho Ga for dinner and it hit the spot.
Tomorrow is our tour to the city on the hop on hop off bus. We will be skipping the shopping malls. LOL.
