With my visa expiring in October we packed up our apartment, sold off our Ikea furniture and said goodbye to our friends in London.
We began our journey home by taking the Eurostar train from London St Pancras Station at 10.20am on the 16th of October to Paris Gare du Nord Station. It was quite a pleasant 2.5 hour journey although I didn't really enjoy going through the tunnel under the English Channel - something just feels wrong about being so far underground and under water.
Once we arrived at Gare du Nord we managed to eventually get ourselves onto the right local Metro train to ......
We arrived at the apartment and awaited Martine and Chris's arrival.
Walked around the local area, had bread, cheese and wine at a local cafe.
Later on found a lovely restaurant in the local area for dinner.
Tuesday morning made our way to the Eiffel Tower then had a big day walking around the city sightseeing. Saw the Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and Champs Elysees, stayed out late enough to see the Tower all lit up.
Wednesday went to the Louvre then did some souvenir shopping around ...... bought truffles.
Thursday ........
Friday train to Barcelona.
