OMG we fucking did it! OMG we fucking did it! That's what goes through my mind every morning when we wake up for the last 2 weeks (sorry for the bad language mama, I know you taught me better ;-)
It was only in February in Venice-Italy that Yohan started talking about leaving everything behind and to travel the world for a year, first as a happy though in order to never have to end the holiday in Venice, but after more and more as a real plan, a decision in life, to leave our house, our jobs and to jump together in a great adventure that's called: "A trip around the world".
So here we are in Thailand, the first location of our trip. After what feels like forever with 3 flights, a 3 hours public bus trip through Istanbul in order to change airport and a visit to the amazing Istanbul Airport Lounge in Turkey (my g'd, never been to such an amazing lounge ever!) we arrived in Phuket, but not for long, the next morning we continued straight by boat to Kho Phi Phi. For us the island of sleeping, reading books, watching Netflix, eating Thai curry, having lots of Thai massages and finding out that Yohan has 2 new hobbies: feeding the monkeys on our balcony daily lots of fruit and drinking from buckets and dancing in the rain on the beach on techno music, who would have guessed that :-D
In order to feel that we exactly did something more than staying in 100 meter radius we decided the last day to take a half day boat trip to see the other islands around Phi Phi and to visit the famous Maya

In order to feel that we exactly did something more than staying in 100 meter radius we decided the last day to take a half day boat trip to see the other islands around Phi Phi and to visit the famous Maya
Bay, the place were they filmed the movie "The beach" with Leonardo Di Caprio. Not sure this was the best decision we ever took as the waves were in open sea 3/4 meter (ok, ok, probably only 2 meters if you would ask Yohan) and the only thing I could thinks was, OMG, how are we going to survive this and even more, how the hell are we going to survive the way back? By helicopter maybe? :-s Let's say I was very relieved to arrive back home and I promised myself never to take a boat in raining season again! Till I realized the next day the only way to leave an island is through.... boat :-s
After safely leaving the island we went on our way to the next destination Kho Phangan, the party island on the east coast of Thailand. Because it's now low season a beautiful calm place where we rented a motorbike for only 20 shekel (5 euro!!) a day and really enjoyed the freedom of going wherever we wanted and even I gave
driving a motorbike a chance (ok, probably every person that passed us throught, thought that with my pace I was at least 90 years old, but I didn't care, I drove my first time a motorbike!) A visit to Kho Phangan is of course not complete without going to a Half Moon festival. We were probabaly the oldest people their, but enjoyed much more than we expected! And for vereyone who doesn't believe Yohan went to a Half Moon party, I have pictures to prove it ;-D
