The Connelly Caravan

Current weather: 16/5°C, raining
Total distance travelled: 692km

After talking about this trip for so long, and being consumed by the unending to-do's and goodbyes in the lead up, it was hard to comprehend the significance of driving away from our house this morning.

6:45am was a little later than our planned departure, but put us well ahead of most other north-bound vehicles.Fun fact: after passing Lilydale McDonald's, we didn't see another set of golden arches for the remaining ~690km's... that's almost unheard of!

A quick breakfast stop in Yea, before finding our way onto the start of the A39 through Seymour, Shepparton, then leaving VIC via Tocumwal.

Side note: I'm rather unimpressed there's no safe photo taking opportunity at the Tocumwal border crossing. A customary photo-op gone begging

A short roadside stop for lunch and fuel in Finley before tracking north along the Newell. Not much other than wild emus and swollen rivers to be seen around these parts at the moment.

We eventually rolled into Wheogo Park in Forbes, NSW just before 5pm. A nice, quiet riverside park, right in town. Now time to take a breath before the tomorrow's next surge north.
