Our Adventure in Ireland

Today is more or less similar to yesterday’s endeavors. We have left Killarney this morning after breakfast at the hotel and are on our way to the city of Limerick. The road is much smoother today so I am actually able to type this up while on the coach. We started off exploring several small towns along the Dingle peninsula while travelling along a cliff road just big enough for the coach to fit. The view offered beautiful coastal islands and steep cliffs that towered to mountainous heights; a popular setting for many movies including the Star Wars franchise.

After several stops for photos, we eventually arrived at the town of Dingle for lunch. Being that Dingle is a port town, it was only fitting that we swung by one of the many fish restaurants to pick up lunch. While eating a delicious plate of calamari, we shared a table with two friendly women from Germany that were visiting on a tour as well. After lunch, we explored the town for a bit before grabbing a cup of Murphy’s ice cream and heading back to the coach for a two hour drive to our hotel in Limerick.

Before reaching Limerick, we actually stopped in the small down of Adare along the way for dinner since our hotel is six miles outside of Limerick. Julia and I swung into a nearby pub for a sandwich and stew that was cheap and filing before hopping back on the coach to finally get to our hotel. It is outside of the city in the country side and our tour group takes up the majority of rooms. Julia and I got a chance to run down to the river Shannon that the hotel borders before it got dark outside. We went for a nice walk to take pictures along the river and met a friendly local and his dog along the river as well. When we returned, we met up with a bunch of people from our tour group in the hotel bar and had a great time drinking and socializing. We are now ready to knock out for an early start at 7:00AM tomorrow!

Pictures coming soon!
