A bit more than 5 years ago I came back from my trip around the world. This was an amazing trip on which I've met a great deal of nice people, seen some amazing scenery and have had a couple of live changing experiences.

When I came back my little sister (Lotte), who had just started her bachelor for physical therapist, told me that she would love to go and travel to Africa some day. I told her that when she finished her study we would go together to Africa. For me this was a continent I skipped during my trip.

So gradually time passed and last October the subject emerged again. It would only take my sister another half year to finish her study. This ment we had to get planning. It took a while before we found out what we were going to do but finally we ended up with Dragoman. Dragoman is the company which I've done my trip in South America with. This yourney was really good and we agreed on travelling with them.

At the time that we first discussed travelling to Africa I hadn't met my girlfriend (Jantine) jet. So to make it complete we asked Jantine to join us as well. But as she has her own business she is not able to get the time off. Luckelly she is able to get a month off so she will be joining us, but later in the trip.

So that's it, today in a week we will be in Cairo from where we will begin our trip to Cape Town. This trip will take us a bit more than 4 months, in which we will be camping ,sleeping with the locals or spending the night in a hostel. But also see a lot of this amazing continent.

We will be posting our dairy here once in a while, one in Dutch for our Dutch friends and family and one in English for our English friends.
