Chapter One: The Journey Begins

Welcome to the travel diary of AJ and Jaimie Smeraski. In ONE day we will be leaving for Southeast Asia! First stop: Vietnam. Wait... Actually the first stop is packing our bags. Can't forget that. Stand by for photos of our gear and thank you for following us on our adventures.

After more than 20 hours in transit, AJ and I were super excited to get to Da Nang. Though, I will say that Cathay Pacific/Dragon airline is a pretty good ride. The seats were a little cramped but they reclined quite a bit and the meals were good. AJ was in the local spirit and ordered the Cod Congee for breakfast and it did not disappoint. This coupled with individual TVs and free adult beverages made the extra long trip not so bad. We are excited to be in Vietnam! The map below *kinda* shows our route. We actually went the other way, up over Alaska and by Russia. I’ll fix that when I have access to a computer but you get the idea.
