SiD's Diary

Goa is one of my favorite vacation destination. And Mumbaiker (people is Mumbai) always love to visit Goa, whenever they wants get relief from their hectic worklife.

So we, few friends cum colleagues made a plan to visit Goa during the month of January. It was four days (23th Jan'2016 to 26th Jan'2016) short trip plan after the new year, during this time Goa is almost, you hardly get a vacant room in any hotel in Goa : December to January Goa is in fire as most of the people visit there to celebrate the Christmas eve & New Year. We had made booking in a bungalow there via hotel booking website but as I said its very difficult to get a room there in these peak time, it got canceled. So we tried to book another hotel & this time we got the rooms just beside the Calangute Beach in Goa. Though the rooms are not so much deluxe, but it was ok for us. It has good view of the sea & beach from the balcony of the room & each room has two balcony both side of the room, fully air conditioned. We just loved it. And most important the manager of the hotel was so much friendly.

We were eight people including one couple. We have booked one Maruti Suzuki Ertiga & one Hundai i10 from mumbai to the beach of Calangute, Goa. We left for the Goa on 22rd January'2016 evening after the office, its approx. 580KM from our location to the Calangute beach and via car it takes approx. 11hours (depends on the traffic: mumbai is always well known for its traffic).

We started our journey at around 8pm from mumbai, it was a

We started our journey at around 8pm from mumbai, it was a

pleasant weather in mumbai, we were driving for three hours & we need a small break; so we took a small halt in the food court near Lonavala, Pune-Mumbai Express highway. We had some snacks there & then again resume the journey for the long waited trip.

Around 1am we reached in the Wakad, Pune and we were feeling so hungry, so we stopped in the highway for some tea & snacks, but Pune was freezing cold in that time we had to wear our winter clothes & started finding some restaurant in there, in that time we could not locate any open hotel but luckily there we got hot tea & noodles with Omlet in the roadside food-stall, We had it & again started driving towards goa, in the middle we had another tea break around 3am somewhere in the Pune-Kohlapur : Bangalore Highway. Around 6pm we reached in the Amboli Ghat, there we stopped in a hotel for freshen up & had our breakfast. Both of our cars meet & we had some chit-chat & then left for Goa. Around 10am we reached in Calangute, Goa. We checked-In the hotel & took some rest.

We had shower there & left for the beach side sacks for the lunch & beer of course ;-) We started the Goa Fun toasting with couple of beer bottles, then we completed our lunch with sea foods and some Indian dishes. Load music & the crowd of the Calangute beach set our mood, but few of us were so tired so we decided to take small

nap in the hotel room. Few of us took rented scooter & bike and left for exploring Goa, they don't wanna miss a single moment in there :-p .

In the evening we went for a walk in the beach line. We started our journey from calangute beach and started walking through the Coastal line & reached in baga beach after 45 min of walking, the evening view was awesome, no crowd; but it was something mesmerizing : the cocktail of the sound of sea-wave & bollywood music from the nearby sacks. Some laser lights were coming from

the beachside sacks, when we reached in the Baga beach, it was around 9pm, people were firing the sky-lanterns & the view was awesome. Sky was full of it. We took a big table for our group outside of the sacks on the sand of the beach. It was candle light group dinner :D .
