Today we set sail from Seville. I am part of Ferdinand Magellan's expedition to sail around the world. Ferdinand is a Portuguese explorer sailing for Spain. Ferdinand promised us riches once we sailed to the spice islands. I am allowed to bring only what will fit into my bag. I will bring my book, a set of playing cards and my sweater. I will have little to eat. We will bring salt, meat, and water. We will need a back staff, compass, compass rose, and lead line to navigate the waters. The goal of our voyage is to collect riches and sail around the world. I know we will face some problems like winds, weather, and shortages of food. My crew and I will see some beautiful sites.

We will stop in Africa to collect supplies and see beautiful ports. We will also stop in Asia to get some spices and silk and we will see beautiful scenery. I am so excited for this journey and I hope we will make it back alive.

Our captain Ferdinand Magellan has died today. Our whole crew has been devastated. We don't know what to do. I am so scared. Our captain is dead and we don't know where we are going. We have no one to lead us and we are practically lost at sea. Plus we are running out of food. Our next port stop is in Asia. We will stop there to get some food and water. Our water right now is yellow. I have no idea who will get us there or if I will even stay on the trip. One of our crew mates, Mallaca, has volunteered to lead the voyage. We hope he will take this voyage and circumnavigate the globe. I have no idea what will happen next. I hope I will survive the trouble.
