AC Travels

Sunday
Arrived a little later than we expected, but all is well!
We travelled by train and bus to get to our accomodation, entertained by the singer (busker) on the train, who came around after a couple of songs, gently shaking her collection tin! We were warned!
After getting settled, we went for a walk, recognising some of the places we passed. Good old Google maps! Dinner at the cafe across the road was followed by struggling to keep awake, then giving in at about 9.30 pm. Not bad after only a few hours sleep on the plane and travelling for over 24 hours!
This morning we were (almost) ready for the day. A chat with Stan (our host) was most enjoyable and confirmed that the walking tour of Montmartre was a good plan for the day.
Montmartre was very busy (wonder if it's always this busy? or if it gets even busier?) and we enjoyed the sunshine as we wandered around the hilly, cobblestoned, narrow streets. Craig was busy taking photos along the way.
We've seen most of the French stereotypes - the organ grinder, lots of small dogs on leads, a person playing the piano accordion, but not a beret in sight ( except outside the souvenir shops)!
We headed back and bought food to cook for tonight. Chicken stir fry coming up and flat batteries to recharge!
