After our spicie mouth numbing hotpot the night before, we woke up nice and early to catch a taxi to the panda sanctuary. We were off to see giant pandas and red pandas.
Such beautiful creatures they almost don't seem real. Like people dressed in panda suits. They moved so gracefully. Climbing trees and sitting on thin branches which look asthough it wouldn't even take my weight.
The baby pandas melted our hearts. Incapable of moving for weeks. They just lay there resting.

Hundreds of the years ago it was said that emporers trained pandas to fight in wars for them. After watching them you couldn't believe they would have an aggressive side but they are bears after all.
Face changing
One of our highlights was a spectacular show in Chengdu. We were told it takes 7 years to train to be a master face changer. The show consisted of opera, comical theatre, hand puppets, fire breathing and face changing.
