So, at long last I am at my hostel and rejuvenated after having a sleep to feel slightly more human again; I did try to do my journal when I first got here but my head was just getting lower and lower, so in the end I gave up. Jalley or James, got me some money out at the airport so that I have got some cash and I also managed to set up Google Pay on my phone so that at least I have some form of card if there is contactless available.
The hostel is nice; there is a restaurant downstairs with loads of lanterns hanging from the ceiling as well as plenty of fans; each room has only 2 beds with an ensuite attached, a safe and the best part is air-con! I was going to be sharing a room with one of the Lucy's although as I have decided I cannot hack going out tonight, she swapped with Julia so that she does not disturb me when she gets back. After my sleep, I had a quick shower to help me feel refreshed after the flight, although there is no hot water here, so I never planned on feeling quite as refreshed as I ended up feeling. I then went downstairs just in the nick of time to join everyone for dinner. At dinner we also got the opportunity to meet our tour guides for the next 2 weeks, the lady is called Kung and the man called Yung. A couple of people decided to go out for some street food instead of eating in the restaurant, although I have been warned to avoid it, so I stayed in the restaurant with the majority and ordered some spaghetti and meatballs with an iced coffee. Everyone seems to be really nice and there is a wide range of personalities ranging from loud people to quiet people, doctors to students; there are quite a few people from England but also people from Belgium and the Netherlands. Our group has around 30 people in it which is hectic but also good, as at least there should always be someone that wants to do what I want to do. The dinner was nice although a little bit spicy but not too bad.
It has been an incredibly quiet day today but I think that is about all I can manage so I am going to head to sleep and will promise to take some pictures for tomorrow's entry so you can start to experience Thailand.
