We set sail for Brazil a couple weeks ago, and all of our hard work has paid off, because I just became the first European to step foot on Brazil. Yes, put this date in your history books, I, Pedro Cabral has done something no one from Europe has ever done before. We had set out for India originally, but we accidentally went too far west and ended up in Brazil. I was the leader of the voyage, of 13 ships, and 1,200 men. Our goal was to establish good trade relations first established by Vasco da Gama in India, that didn't work out. The water has been tough to maintain, we started with 13 ships and returned with only 4, the wind has pushed us too far from India, and

was a constant struggle. The tools we needed to be successful include, a map so we knew the route da Gama took, a compass to keep us on the right track, booting supplies to be safe, and a telescope to see land. My crew has endured great struggles at sea, and without them, maybe we wouldn't have spotted Brazil, they all kept their eyes out for land, and we found some.
