We were out by 6:30am the next day, made our way to the airport in traffic. And helped Tash at Hertz learn a few things about when we return a car. As we checked in, we realized we hadn’t shopped enough. Overall, we were nearly 35kgs under the permissible baggage limit. Well, we were out of money. Simple policy. The shopping stops when the money runs out. It did. So that was the end of that. In the flight, we completed accounts and were well and truly within our budget. A good trip overall. Correction. A fantastic trip. We did get out in Hong Kong for a couple of hours. To Tung Chung and for some shopping. No Ice cream. No crocodile!!
The last leg of the journey was all sleep – from Hong Kong to Bangalore. We slept through. Didn’t even eat. And we were home. The customs and immigration continues to surprise me in Bangalore. Probably one of the most efficient in the world. 45 mins after landing and we were in the car. Back home to kids. Back home to planning the next trip.
Australia turned out to be way better than we had planned. Way better than we had

expected. It was spectacular. It was happy. It was peaceful. Shops shutting at 5pm. People sleeping at 9. And enough locations for party and view points, sceneries and beach of every kind. Given a choice I would like to spend at least a week at each location. Obviously I’d like to have my golf clubs with me, a lot more money and a lot more time to do that. Maybe soon. Many many thanks to Pooja to make this such a fantastic trip. It was a bucket list item. It was probably a trip of a lifetime. We saw Koalas, Kangaroos and penguins but I didn’t see any crocodile!!
