We ventured out on a Scottish Borders tour and the first stop was Rosslyn Chapel in Roslin. You may know it as one of the churches prominently featured in "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown. I don't want to spoil anything, but Rosslyn Chapel was a significant part of the plot. It's supposedly connected to the Freemasons, the Knights Templar, and the Holy Grail. Sadly, I spotted none of these.
Thanks to that book, Rosslyn Chapel is now a major tourist destination in Scotland. The 15th century church was built as the family chapel of the Sinclair family and has thousands of intricate carvings.
